Mr. Berbert focuses his practice in the areas of commercial landlord-tenant law and commercial leasing. He assists clients at every stage of a transaction or relationship, from the drafting of a lease document, to the interpretation and enforcement of the parties' rights thereunder, to the litigation or other resolution of disputes related thereto. He regularly practices before the trial courts in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia, and represents his clients' interests in the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts and the appellate courts in those jurisdictions as well.
Mr. Berbert earned his undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and received his legal training at the National Law Center at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He joined the firm (as its first associate) out of law school in 1982, became a partner in 1988, and is a founding member of the firm.
