Heather L. Kafetz

Ms. Kafetz handles a variety of litigation matters, including the defense and prosecution of commercial real estate lawsuits, commercial and residential landlord and tenant matters, employment matters, contract disputes, commercial and residential collection matters, personal injury lawsuits, and general civil litigation. Ms. Kafetz also advises clients, particularly employers, on employment law matters and employment-related contracts. Ms. Kafetz is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Ms. Kafetz joined Bregman, Berbert, Schwartz & Gilday, LLC in 1998. Prior to that, she served as a law clerk to The Honorable Louise G. Scrivener in The Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland (1997-1998).

Ms. Kafetz obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1997, where she graduated With Honors. During her tenure at the University of Maryland School of Law, Ms. Kafetz served as Associate Editor of The Business Lawyer Journal, a joint publication of the University of Maryland and the American Bar Association (1996-1997). Ms. Kafetz was the recipient of The Public Service Award (1997) for her work in the Persons with Disabilities Clinic at the University of Maryland School of Law. Ms. Kafetz also served as an intern to the Honorable Marvin J. Garbis in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland (1995).

Ms. Kafetz obtained her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1994. During college, Ms. Kafetz was a member of the national championship Mock Trial Team, and The Presidential Advisory Board. Ms. Kafetz was also a member of Omicron Delta Kappa National Honor Society.
